I was only nine when I decided to become a ceramic artist. Now, 40 years later, when I stand here by my rolling machine in my studio in Uppsala, I know that this decision was the right one. I love my work.
The two best colleges of art in Sweden have provided me with a thorough seven year education. A royal scholarship and a federal arts scholarship supported me and led to my being able to work as designer/ceramicist for Sweden's four largest producers of ceramics. Making form, color, function and ergonomy work together in industrial production is an exciting challenge.

Thanks to this industry, I have been able to exhibit my work at many places - but also administer exhibits on my own. But still most of all, I love to work with "fossil ceramics" in my own clay workshop in Uppsala. Nature, in the proper circumstances, creates a fossil in about 1000 years. With the help of modern technology, it takes me only three weeks. Large simple vases and platters provide a delightful background for the inclusions of plants or textiles. These, together with the ashes and the glaze, make the fossil look. The fired result is hard as stone and watertight as glass. Nature as a designer is my greatest source of inspiration. I'll never complete my training as an artist. My time on earth is too short for that. But my "fossil" ceramics document the flora of the 1900's, perhaps forever...
